2014 Turkey Table #3: Harvest Time

Time for Round Three of the Thanksgiving spread! Sorry, that’s misleading- we’re not serving food here, just a table setting. Womp, womp. Are you just now tuning in to the party? Well, not to worry- we’ll play a little catch up… Essentially, I put together three different table settings in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving and shared one a week. We started with a very fall-ish one, complete with an orange runner, a lantern, and painted white leaves:

The second week, I did something a little less “fall” and a little more “blended seasons”.

And that video (full post here)…

And finally, we’re at our last table setting before the big day is officially HERE! We’ll call it “Harvest Time” because it feels very hunters-and-gatherers to me…

fall 018Lots of texture, a mix of blues, greens, and oranges, as well as some natural elements come together to create this set-up. I started with the same white table cloth as the base and added a blue-green Pashmina scarf for a runner and a square of burlap to anchor the centerpiece. Next came those same woven place mats, topped with silverware and white plates.

It has been a personal mission of mine to see if I could somehow incorporate our lime green bowls into one of the settings… Mission Accomplished. 🙂

2014 Turkey Table #3: Harvest TimeA few green glass bottles filled with some fall ferns and surrounded by leaves and mini white pumpkins round out the look and make it feel very harvest-y.

fall 007This one was a lot of fun to put together. I loved that it was just a collection of simple items found in and around the house (aka. FREE!) that when thrown put together, create a lovely fall display. Sometimes, it’s the little things that make a big difference…

Alrighty, video time. Here’s your fast-forwarded version of how it all went down. Enjoy!

After all was said and done, I realized that I didn’t include napkins! The shame. However, the only nice napkins I could find were teal, so I played with the concept of highlighting the blues of the scarf instead of the greens of the bottles, plants, etc. Here’s what a simple change-up could look like.

When I think about it, that’s largely what this entire process has been about- using the same elements to make a bunch of very different arrangements.

So what’s the word on your Thanksgiving table this year? Are you going all fall, a mix of seasons, using only things found around the house? Do share- I’d love to hear! Happy Thanksgiving!

2014 Turkey Table #3: Harvest TimePS. Tune back in tomorrow for one final Thanksgiving post for the year- you’ll see how we gave a couple of turkeys a makeover!
