Pretty Paper & Paris

This post should come with a warning label… THIS PROJECT WILL TAKE YOU LESS THAN ONE MINUTE. Seriously, this one is gold. All you need some kind of tray, a piece of scrapbook paper, a pair of scissors, and some tape and you’re good to go.

Let me tell you the story first. Last year, my boss went to Paris and brought back some chocolate for the office. While everyone was digging in, I was scoping out the packaging. No, I didn’t care about the amount of calories we were consuming (Spoiler Alert: It was a lot). I had my eyes on a different prize… the box!

After no one else wanted it, I asked if I could keep the box before tucking it safely into my bag to take home. I really like that it has the company name stained onto the side and with a blank slate for the bottom, I knew that I could jazz it up a little with just a scrap of pretty paper.

All I did was cut my paper to size (you could measure, but I’m more of an “eyeballer”) and taped it to the bottom of the tray. Done! Is it waterproof? No. Could it get ruined? Yes. But the beauty of it is that it’s easily removable and the inside “look” can be swapped out for any occasion or season.

For Christmas or Valentine’s Day, you could throw some red and white striped paper in there. A dramatic black pattern would look great for Halloween, and just a solid bright, peppy color would bring some warm summer vibes right to your coffee table.

Easy peasy… that’s my kind of project. 🙂 We’ve already thoroughly enjoyed using this tray as a home for some fresh blooms! Have I put you on the hunt for that old, forgotten tray in the back of that one cabinet yet? Hope so. 🙂 Happy papering!
