A Parrot What??

DISCLAIMER: This is a sponsored post brought to you by Parrot Uncle. All opinions are 100% my own.

Happy Thursday, crew… it’s almost the weekend! Today is a fun day because we get to shine a light on (this is a pun that will make sense in a few seconds) a company that made no sense to me at first, but now I’m a huge fan of. When Parrot Uncle contacted me to partner up for a post and future reader giveaways (!!!), I think I said to Mitch… “Um, what’s a Parrot Uncle?”Parrot UncleLet me clear it up for you. Parrot Uncle is an online lighting store and they sell everything from desk lamps to ornate chandeliers to replacement light bulbs. Their prices are very reasonable and they generally have a sale happening so you can score an extra discount off your purchase (there’s a 30% off sale happening until the 20th!!!). Oh, and did I mention… FREE SHIPPING AND RETURNS for every order? Sold.

Needless to say, when Parrot Uncle asked me to do a little window shopping on their website and come up with a collection of lights that got my palms sweaty and my heart racing, I couldn’t say YES fast enough. So let’s do a little browsing together, shall we? I want to show you some of the fixtures I love and think could be real winners in our home. You know, just in case you wanted to send me one or all of them as presents… the holidays are coming you know. I want you to feel prepared. 🙂 I’m really just looking out for you guys. #selflessshopping

Let’s do this! First up, some of my favorites… the Pendant section:

Pendant Lighting from Parrot Uncle

Oh boy… be still my heart. I love these guys- each of them in their own way and I wouldn’t be mad if one of them made it’s way into my stocking this year… coughSANTA.

  1. This Iron Cage Pendant is full of angles and lines that would cast the greatest shadows on the walls and ceilings. Plus that matte black color? STOP. I CAN’T. Side Note: Why do Middle School girls have to go to the bathroom in groups of three? Because they can’t even. I know, I know… that just made your day… you’re welcome. 🙂 But seriously, I’m drooling over this light fixture and think it would look great in a foyer or hallway.
  2. I love a lot of things about this Glass Globe Pendant– I like that it’s sleek and kind of modern looking, but still has some rustic charm to it. Maybe I’m totally off with that, but bottom line? I love. And could totally see it in our downstairs bathroom… remember this moodboard?
  3. How charming is this White Metal Pendant? I think three of these guys over a kitchen island would look beautiful and help keep a light and airy feel to the room. And you know my thoughts about light and airy.

Ok, onward! Let’s do some dining, shall we? Under a chandelier perhaps?

Chandeliers from Parrot Uncle

I really like this collection because they are all different and could be used to decorate a whole slew of different styled spaces.

  1. This Wooden Chandelier is just the right tone of wood for me. You can tell it’s wood, but it has a gray washed quality to it that I really like. I think this would look beautiful in a dining room painted dark navy with some nautical accents.
  2. A little different than some of the other things I picked out, this Crystal Chandelier caught my eye with its bling factor. As much of a tom boy as I was/am, I do love sparkly things as much as the next girl. My only request to Mitch when we were picking out the Engagement ring was that it had to be sparkly. Cut, carat, clarity… I couldn’t care less… just make it sparkly. 🙂 I would love to see this chandelier in a gray dining room with sparkly silverware and tufted dining chairs. Ooo, fancy!
  3. This Metal Framed Glass fixture is a show stopper. It’s just neat. It has character and I think it would look charming above a kitchen table or maybe even over a conference table in a work space. Love.

Speaking of work spaces, we are on the hunt for a lamp to finish off our new desk upstairs (the big reveal… sans lamp… is coming TOMORROW!!), so I took a browse through the table top lights…

Desk and Table Lighting from Parrot Uncle

  1. This stately Table Lamp with the Patterned Shade seems like a classic to me. It could probably fit right into a slew of different homes and styles- we actually have a similarly shaped pair on our bedside tables. I could even see it with just a plain white shade, but the pattern does add some pizzazz. 🙂 And who doesn’t like pizzazz?
  2. I really like that this Dark Gray Adjustable Lamp has so much character to it. I think it would look adorable on a console table in the hallway or maybe a side table next to a big comfy “reading” chair. Or on a desk!
  3. Another one of these guys… this Copper Adjustable Lamp caught my eye because of it’s color and shape. I would love to have this to put in the corner of our desk, especially because we’ve already got some gold accents going on in that space (can’t wait to show you tomorrow!!).
  4. This Wooden Tripod Lamp is just so cool. Modern and unique, but not so much that it couldn’t fit in with other decor. I could see a pair of these on side tables in a basement or man cave. Or, going in another direction… in a craft room or home office! The possibilities are endless.

And finally, I think we should finish up with a look outside!

Outdoor Lighting from Parrot Uncle

  1. Sleek, dark, simple, good lines… that’s this Black Lantern. Not much else to say other than I like it and think it would look nice on a whole host of different houses. Oh, and I like that it’s curvy-ish. Makes it special. 🙂
  2. The good ‘ole Bell Shaped Light– charming, right? I can picture a pair of these on either side of a front door. I like that it’s interesting to look at with its unconventional shape.
  3. Annnnnnd something a bit more ornate with a handful of extra details in the design… this Pavilion Shaped Lantern would be great for a home with a more traditional flair. I like that it looks like a little house!

So there you have it- a morning of window shopping and you didn’t even have to leave your chair! Doesn’t get any better than that. Now hop on over to Parrot Uncle and check out their goods (and cash in on that rockin’ disount!). But I’m telling you right now, if you all get over there before me and buy out that angular pendant, we are going to throw down.

I’m joking, I’m joking!
