Fall Frames

In the spirit of fall, which we highlighted yesterday with our front porch welcoming committee, I can’t wait to show you another easy way to bring some of the beauty of autumn into your home. This project is great because it costs almost nothing! All you need are some frames, a few leaves, and something to mount them on as a backing. I wanted to add some autumn to our kitchen, so I used our gallery wall of frames for this project.Kitchen: AFTERMy inspiration for this was actually just driving around all season and admiring the beauty of all of the leaves changing. I especially love the ones that look like they’re on fire with reds, oranges, and yellows, so I wanted to see if I could capture some of that color for the gallery wall. Fall Gallery WallThe other neat part about this is that it requires you to spend some time outside and literally “stop to smell look at the roses leaves”. Last week, while was babysitting for my cousin, so we took a walk in search of the prettiest leaves we could find. Back at home, I laid them out and played around with the order to see which look I liked the best.Fall Gallery WallFor the backing, I used white card stock to make the leaves pop and mounted it on a scrap of burlap to bring in more of that autumn-y texture.Fall Gallery WallJust lay each frame on the ground, add your leaf:Fall Gallery Wall

Center the white card stock over top (it’s okay if the leaves stick out a bit from the sides… adds character):

Add your burlap:

That’s really all there is to it! We’re loving the fall look in our kitchen and the best part about it was that it was free! I already had the burlap (although if you had to buy a yard or two, this would still be a cost-friendly project), paper, and as far as I’m aware- they’re not charging for leaves these days. 🙂 Fall Gallery WallFall Gallery Wall

I did my best to find a variety of colors and shapes and on our hunt, I learned that there are a lot of cool looking leaves out there!Fall Gallery Wall

I was even able to find some of those firey looking ones I love so much…Fall Gallery Wall
