Falling For Fall (& a VIDEO Home Tour!)

If you know me, you know that fall is my favorite season. Ever. So when Parachute.com asked me to share a little bit about how we get ready and in the spirit for the season, of course I couldn’t resist! In honor of their cozy fall collection, I decided to give you my top five things that we do in our house to gear up for autumn!

1. Changing out the clothing! Every fall, we swap out the tank tops and flip flops for sweaters and boots. The spring/summer stuff gets packed away and the fall and winter stuff gets the front and center spot in the closet. I love this routine because it’s like getting a whole new wardrobe for free every season! Specific favorite… a cozy flannel. 🙂
2. Candles! For some reason, we burn a lot more in our house during the cooler months.
3. Over the last two years, we have been enjoying starting our own family traditions… one of which is watching all of the Charlie Brown holiday movies! Last weekend, on Halloween day, we snuggled up on the couch for “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”… so fun!
4. HOT CHOCOLATE. I’m not a coffee drinker, which kind of excludes me from the Pumpkin Spice Latte spectacular, but a mug of hot chocolate is just up my alley. Or apple cider… yum!
5. Campfires… love them. We really enjoy using our outdoor space when we have the time and one of the best things about fall, in my opinion, is a fire. Add a few friends, a bunch of blankets, and maybe a few s’mores and now you’re speaking my language! 🙂

So there you have it- five must haves to get the fall season under way. Parachute.com has a lot of cozy fall things and I enjoyed doing a little window shopping, just for fun. My favorite? This “Fireside” candle… um, yes please.

And, in honor of the wonderful fall season, I thought I’d show you what’s been happening in our house lately! It’s been a long long time since the last video home tour (last winter!!!), so we are overdue. Especially, seeing as A LOT has changed since the last one! Just for fun, here is the last home tour we shot… if you are feeling overly ambitious or just have an abundance of free time on your hands (#jealous), I’d recommend watching this one first. It’ll be that much more fun to see what has changed with our newest!
