Looking for a simple way to bring a little Valentine’s Day decor to your table this year? This adorable touch will have people ooohing and aahhhing over your attention to detail, but the best part about it is that it’s so. stinkin’. EASY. I’m telling you- 2 steps and you’ve got yourself a handful of these little cuties.
Ready? Ok, grab a carton of strawberries, a cutting board, and a knife and you’re good to go.
While planning that Valentine’s Day brunch for my girls way back when, I was looking for simple and subtle ways to decorate. After washing the strawberries, I realized that their natural shape looks almost like a heart with no dip at the top. Well, seeing as we cut off the stem before we eat themย anyway,ย I thought that if I just made my cut a little further down into the berry, we might be on to something…
From there, all I did was slice the strawberry so that each piece fell off looking like a mini-heart. Make sure to slice in the right direction- you’ll be able to tell pretty quickly if you’re going the wrong way. Each slice should look like a heart!
Before long, you’ll have a whole mess of Valentine-y strawberries! The great thing about this trick is that you can use it for so many other occasions besides just Valentine’s Day. Birthdays, Mother’s Day, or just because… how can you not feel happier with a handful of these on your cake, fruit cup, or cereal?
So now, let me ask you- do you know any easy peasy ways to show a little Valentine spirit? Leave a comment and let’s have ourselves an idea swap! After all, who doesn’t like simple and quick solutions to holiday decor? ๐

Now I know what to get my wife for Valentines Day… instead of chocolates! (or is that, along with the chocolates).
How about an article from women, suggesting what the men should get them for valentines day. That would help MILLIONS of puppy-dog men. Save the men, Save the world !!!

Haha that’s a great idea dad! Hers what you do- cut up a few of these, melt some chocolate to drizzle over them, and use them to put over ice cream or something. Or have them cut up and ready for breakfast in the Mormon. But this would be an “in addition to” type of thing :). Maybe I’ll do gift ideas next year!

That’s AWESOME and simple enough! Where were you for my last 25 years?? That being said, if the guy has missed the mark for the last 20 years+, how do you take your last idea and take it to the “over-the-top” level to make up for all the other blunders? I mean how does a guy get the girl to say “I can’t believe you did all this for me… (and you can forget all the other valentines you messed up on, honey)”?

“The past is the past and I’m a new man!” is the phrase you’re looking for ๐ hah!

I like this! Way easier than making heart-shaped pancakes. ๐
I use Bible verse art as decor around my house and change them out every month or so. For V-day, I display verses that have to do with love.
Leslie | 6th Feb 15
Hahaha so try Bridget! And I LOVE the Bible verse idea… I’ll have to try that next year!
