Hey guys! Just checking in today with a super quick gallery wall update for you… if you’ve been with us for awhile, you know we’re slowly but surely filling up a gallery wall in our family room with photos and DIY art. (PS. If you’re new here, welcome! We’re glad you’re here. 🙂 Click here to find a brief overview of what you’re getting yourself into… hah!)
I’ve been wanting to try out some letter art for awhile now and figured that it was finally time to do away with the swan print for good (can you spot it in that picture above?)! Here’s what that frame is sporting now…
To make this, I started by outlining a large T for Thomas and the date we were married in pencil before going back over it and filling it in with a black Sharpie.
After making the letter, I used my pencil to create a “wreath” of branches around it, added some flowers and leaves…
…and then gave them a few touches of color with some watercolors.
Before reassembling the frame, I gave the matte (it started out as an ivory-gold) a few coats of hunter green with some craft paint to play off the green in the leaves.
Put it all back together, hang it up, and this project is officially finished! How’s that for an easy Friday? 🙂
Happy Weekend, everyone!
So those frames in the kitchen… the ones that I change out seasonally……
