Organizing With Baskets

Hey there! Happy Monday to you! Today is a short and sweet post about how we corralled the mountains of sheets and towels in the laundry room so that they have their own spot… and as a bonus, now we don’t want to rip the shelves right off the wall every time we grab a towel just to have a whole stack fall on top of you. Whew. Can you tell that those were dark days? #firstworldproblems

Ok, deep breath… Remember the laundry room from last week? It used to be white on white and we jazz-ified it with a little coral paint and light blue shelves.

Up until that point, all of the sheets and towels were just piled. That is, until I found a few canvas baskets at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, used a couple 20% off coupons (because who the heck shops there without them?!), and brought ’em on home.

Laundry Room BasketsIn the realm of organizing, we have them divided up into categories: white towels, blue towels, sheets, extra rags/dust cloths, and washcloths/bathmats.

While the big ones came from BBB, I also included a long-ish, skinny one and a shorter, square one from Target- couldn’t help myself with that fun pattern! Fortunately, they kind of tie it all together. 🙂

To help with remembering which is which, these little card stock tags tied on with twine do the trick!

PS. Stay tuned this week for a look into our year with DIY Laundry Detergent and how we added another shelf and some personal touches to this itty bitty room.
