Our 2015 Christmas Card!

It’s that time of year again… Christmas card season!!! Christmas cards are one of those things that I love about the season, but I totally forget to do until the last minute. I love getting a slew of cards in the mail, seeing pictures of friends and families, reading those letters that highlight “all the things we did this year”, and displaying them somewhere that we can sift through and enjoy all season long. The whole concept is just so fun! Especially in a culture where we are moving further and further away from snail mail and handwritten greetings, I really appreciate the sentiment of taking the time to give and receive actual physical holiday well wishes.

All that being said, last year’s Christmas card game was a hot mess… we didn’t think about it until we had already started receiving some from other people, so we rushed to get pictures printed, cards written, and envelopes addressed. I remember thinking… note to self: START EARLIER NEXT YEAR.

2014 Christmas Cards

This year though… THIS YEAR we were on our game. We had those babies picked out and ordered even before Thanksgiving. We decided to switch it up a little bit and try out one of the Shutterfly templates. You know how I love Shutterfly for books, calendars, and sharing photos, but we had never tried their Christmas cards before. And let me tell you, once I got started with all of the fun layouts and glittery writing… well… it was hard to stop. By the end, I had a whole slew of Christmas card options and I figured it would be fun to show you some of this year’s “contestants”.

For Option 1, I went with the black and white look with foil-stamped red letters. I really liked this one, but we couldn’t figure out if it’s weird that our faces aren’t showing. What do you think?

2015 Christmas Card Option 1

Option 2 is classic Christmas with the green garland and red berries… I love the natural look! Doesn’t it just get you in the mood to decorate the tree with strings of popcorn and red beads? 🙂

2015 Christmas Card Option 2

A nod to “brown paper packages tied up in string”, Option 3 boasts some white and foil-stamped red snowflakes to make things feel really wintry.

2015 Christmas Card Option 3

The fourth and final… Option 4 is a little less traditional with the navy blue background and bright foil-stamped gold lettering in a fun font.

2015 Christmas Card Option 4

So that’s the haul this year! Four options, one winner… it’s already been chosen and ordered. But just for fun, how about we have a little guessing game? A fun Christmas-y way to say THANKS(!!!) for hanging out with us this year! Just comment below with your best guess as to which design we chose- Option 1, 2, 3, or 4. We’ll then take all of the people who guessed correctly, and draw a random winner, who will win a $5 Starbucks giftcard!  Want a chance to win? Go ahead- take a guess in the comments below! The winner (and Christmas card reveal!) will be announced Friday!
