Our New… YOUTUBE CHANNEL!

The big day is finally here! I can’t believe that it’s finally launch day for the BIG SECRET PROJECT we’ve been working on. Hooray!!! This baby has been in the works for over five months now and TODAY is the day that I can finally tell you all about it! We have… drumroll, please… started a YOUTUBE CHANNEL!

Called Mitch & Leslie. 🙂

Let me start from the beginning…

You may or may not know this about Mitch and I, but we are both youth workers. We both work with students for a living. We graduated from Eastern University in 2012 with degrees in Youth Ministry and Biblical Studies. The thing is, Youth Ministry can look like so many different things and we’re living proof of that. I am the Youth Director at a church and I work with Middle and High School students. Mitch works for a non-profit Sports Ministry called Push the Rock. They share about Jesus and teach kids how to play sports. We love our jobs and wouldn’t want to be doing anything else.

Here’s the thing about youth workers… part of our job includes coming up with weird/fun/crazy/silly games for our groups. Which is great, but let me let you in on a little secret… youth workers live vicariously through their students. We (most of the time) want to be in on the action and all the fun, but usually are facilitating and/or making sure no one dies. 🙂 Kidding, KIDDING. But really.

So rarely, do we ever get to PLAY the games we facilitate. Until now.

I thought it would be fun for Mitch and I to challenge ourselves to some of these crazy games and contests. Some we’ve done with our students, some we are treating as a test run for future use at work, and some we just found online or saw other people doing and thought, HOWCANTHATNOTBEFUNLET’STRYITTONIGHT! Catch that? 🙂

And so, what we were originally calling “Friday Funday” was born. The plan was every Friday, we’d post a video with a game or challenge. But then, as we filmed and edited and started putting the content together, things started growing into other types of videos besides just challenges. As it is, we do a handful of videos here on the blog about home stuff, so it’s nice to now have a place to corral all of them. In addition to the weekly challenge videos and occasional home-related content, you’ll see some life stuff too. Vlogs (our first one captured this year’s Christmas vacation), maybe some tutorials, and we’re even working on a few “this is what we’re digging this month” videos. Bottom line? It’s going to be a BLAST and we don’t want you to miss any of it!Speaking of… let’s talk about how you can be sure to never miss a video! The very first thing to note is that most of the videos will not be featured here on the blog. Sure, the house-related and life-style ones probably will be, but we will not be using blog space to show the videos. If you want to make sure not to miss a thing, GO SUBSCRIBE TO OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL!!! Just like Subscribing via email here on the blog is the only foolproof way that you never miss a post, Subscribing to the channel (no spam, JUST video updates) is the only foolproof way to never miss a video.

In addition to that, here are the other social media platforms to which we frequent and where we post daily life things AND blog and channel updates. Please Note: If you were formerly following us on Instagram, we’ve launched a new account that’s just blog and channel stuff (with some daily life and family thrown in every now and then). In the interest of separating personal and blog/channel work, I am no longer using my personal Insta for all of the above. Instead, follow our new Instagram! The Facebook link below is for the channel, but we will continue to have Oh, the Fun’s FB page up and running too.

As the biggest aspect of the new channel are the Friday challenge videos, that’s what we’re kicking things off with! You’ll see us try it all- gross, weird, competitive, teamwork-y, fast, silly… and we’re diving right in TODAY! With that, I bring you the VERY FIRST (episode??)… Enjoy!

Whew! I still can’t believe today is here… finally! We are so excited about this new chapter and would LOVE if you joined us for the adventure!
