Today is a fun day… remember that Instagram game I told you about awhile ago (here)? The one we’ve been playing weekly? Where anyone and everyone can post photos that correspond with the week’s theme (this week’s is a Halloween craft!) and tag them with #homeforthefallidays for a chance to win and be featured across 17 IG accounts?! That game?
(Psst. Have you been playing along each week for the Instagram challenge? It’s so much fun and we want to see your stuff so get posting! If you want to follow Oh, the Fun on IG, we’re @lesliethomas921)
Today is exciting because most of the #homeforthefallidays hosts have joined forces to bring you a good ‘ole fashioned blog hop! Today, we’re all sharing our Halloween crafts on each of our blogs and YOU get a front row seat to all of the action. I can’t wait to check out what each blogger came up with… how fun is it that we get to do a whirlwind tour to see it all?!
For my Halloween craft, I wanted to do something super simple. To be honest, as much as I enjoy Halloween, it doesn’t get my heart pumping as much as the general fall season does. I think it adds to the merriment, but I get much more excited for apple picking and pumpkin pie and football games than I do dressing up and being spooky. That being said, most of our decorations are more fall-themed than Halloween specific. HOWEVER, we do love a good carved pumpkin and I do enjoy the occasional Disney Channel original Halloween movie, so we’re totally playing along today and I couldn’t be more excited.
This creepy, crawly ensemble has found its way onto our front door and has been a fun way to get in the spirit of all things Halloween!
The best part? This wreath is sooooo easy to make… you’re going to laugh at how short this how-to is. I’m not even exaggerating- it’s TWO STEPS. Look at it this way… the quicker the how-to, the quicker you can go and make one for your own front door!
All you need for this project is a wreath (I just used last year’s Christmas one!), a bit of fake snow, and some of those plastic spider and bat rings… you can find them at the Dollar Store.
My wreath happened to have a coat of white spray paint on it, but you could do with or without. The first step is adding your “spiderwebs”… all it takes is a bit of wrapping and tucking in between those branches.
The second (and final!) step is simply sticking a few spiders and bats and whatever else you want into the branches for that creepy, crawly effect. For a little extra support, you could always add a dab of hot glue and that should be enough to secure them.
And that’s it! Hang it up and you’re all set for those trick-or-treaters!
I made this guy from things I already had on hand, but even if you were buying from scratch, my guess is that you could make it for about $10. PLUS, if you have little kiddos around, this is a fun project that is easy enough for them to help with. Happy Haunting!
Psst. Don’t forget to go and check out the other Halloween crafts in today’s blog hop! Here’s a rundown of the rest of the hosts and the projects they chose to tackle. See you over there!
How the heck did that happen? I feel like we just picked out our pumpkins…

Leslie,
This is such a cute wreath! I love that you only used supplies you had on hand. I need to do more crafting like that because my craft supplies are getting out of hand! Thank you so much for joining us! It’s been a joy to have you!

Thanks Cat! Oh, the everlasting fight against taming the craft supplies… They just seem to multiply don’t they? 🙂
