Telling Mitch WE’RE PREGNANT!

One of the main questions I get asked is “How did you tell Mitch you were pregnant?”. I had thought a lot about how I wanted to tell him (even before I knew I was pregnant) and had come to the conclusion that, if possible, I wanted to try and get it on tape so we could watch his reaction back later. Fortunately, with all of the work we’ve been doing for our YouTube channel and blog stuff, Mitch is used to me wielding a camera in his face and taking time to sit down and record challenges or vlogs is nothing out of the ordinary anymore. He hardly suspected a thing. 🙂

I figured that since we had just moved and just broke the news of that onto the blog, I could convince him that we needed to make a surprise-we-have-big-news-WE’RE-MOVING! video for the channel and he wouldn’t get suspicious. Turns out, it worked and he didn’t see it coming, as you’ll be able to tell by the way he reacted when I announced something quite different!

I found out I was pregnant the morning of Friday, April 8th. Mitch was working from home that day and my dad and I had already made plans to drive out to a few Craigslist listings in the search to buy a lawnmower. After I took the test and it came back positive, I knew I’d have to wait to say anything to Mitch until later that night because he was already on a conference call and I had to leave to meet my dad. I filmed a quick bit (as quietly as I could so Mitch wouldn’t hear in the other room) with some of my first thoughts, just after finding out the big news.

It wasn’t until after we got home that evening (with lawnmowers in tow!) and my parents left that I was finally able to tell him… and here’s how it all went down… 🙂

PS. How hilarious is the very first thing that comes out of Mitch’s mouth?? It cracks me up every single time I watch it. That’s so Mitch… always checking up on the status of the food. 🙂
