The Easiest Semi-DIY Ornaments Ever

Well, if you didn’t get it from the title, we’re talking Christmas ornaments today! And you might want to lay off the spirited Eggnog. 🙂

‘Tis the season for Christmas decorating (we’re just about finished with ours!) and because of that little lady that’s coming our way any day now, we’ve been trying to stay ahead of the Christmas game. I’m finishing up a few posts about how we’ve decked the halls this year… our PINK-ified Christmas tree, a Christmas home tour, and what’s been going on out on our front porch. For today, let’s dive into this DIY ornament project!

I use DIY very loosely with this one because… well, you’ll see. For this project, I raided the Target dollar bin (which is AMAZING and if you haven’t hit it up yet, you are missing out) and came out on other end wielding many a Christmas trinket to play around with. 🙂

All it took was a pack of clear, fillable ornaments and a few bits and pieces to fill them with! Seriously, this is so easy. And kid-friendly if you’re in the market for a Christmas activity to do with little ones. I made four different ornaments and all it took was filling the ornaments with fun Christmassy things. The first one got the royal treatment with a bit of silver tinsel string ($1 at Target).

The second has a sweet surprise inside… these adorable foam candy ornaments (also $1 at Target) fit perfectly inside with just a little squishing to get them through the top. They are so fun and festive!

The third is a nod to the traditional brown-paper Christmas… just a bit of paper confetti that I had lying around for this guy!

Finally, our fourth is a little snow-scape, complete with a Christmas tree! I started with a bit of Buffalo snow that I already had and then added a mini bottle brush tree (they’re at Target… a pack of 6 for $3) and some white glitter for a bit of sparkle. How cute!

This one reminds me of the picture in my head when I think “traditional, snowy Christmas”…also, it’s more “winter” than “Christmas”, so it can stay up for the next couple of months!

There you have it- four easy Christmas ornaments. I had plans to use those tiny ornaments in one, only to find out that they didn’t fit! Not to worry- they have a new home elsewhere, which you’ll see soon enough…
