Winter Wonderlamp

Yesterday, I promised a 15 second project to bring some winter inside, so here goes. Get those stopwatches ready. All you need are a few snowflakes (if you have to make them from scratch, you’re looking at more that 15 seconds here, people) and something to put them in.

Snowflakes

I got these snowflakes at our local thrift store and they are neat because the come in two pieces that you snap together to create a 3-D snowflake. You can also buy glittery non-3-D ones at the Dollar Store if you’re not into cutting out some from paper (that does take some time and creates quite a mess).

Snowflakes Here’s the one and only step: Take the snowflakes and put them in a container.

There you go. Done. I chose to use the blue glass, open bottom lamp that we have (see it’s story here), but you if you don’t have a lamp, there are definitely other ways to pull this off. Grab a cake stand and glass cover if you have one and stick a few underneath for instant wintry table decor. Or, fill a glass jar with a few (if you don’t smash them down inside, you’d probably still be able to get the 3-D effect). No matter what you fill, it’s a lot of bang for your buck. Who knew just a few snowflakes could look so magical?

The thing I like about this is that it’s not so Christmas-y that it has to come down right after the holiday is over… we’ll probably enjoy this well into the season.
