Thanks For the Memories, Florida!!!

Wow, it’s hard to believe it was almost a full year ago that we were traipsing all over Florida with nary a care in the world. 🙂 As much as it feels as though time has flown by, we are getting to that point where we feel ready for another adventure… which is what tomorrow’s post is all about! Before we go there, we’ve got a special gem of a post for you today. Remember all my weepy-ness over home videos last week? Well, I have a feeling this one will make me pretty sentimental when we go back to watch it ten years down the road…

Last year after our trip to Florida, I took you through each day of our adventure and showed you some pictures and a few short videos we shot and pieced together (you can read all about Day 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 of the trip by clicking those numbers). For a year now, I’ve been meaning to get everything into one family vacation video and it’s taken me this long to do it. 🙂 BUT IT’S DONE! Everything all in one place, PLUS a lot of video clips and photos that we’ve never shown before.

As I was editing this one, I got to thinking… one day, this is definitely going to be fun for us to look back on and remember, but really… how much fun is it to watch other people’s vacation videos? Um, about as fun as watching countless photos of other people painting their house, I guess. But hey, you’re here aren’t you? HAH! Seriously, though… I’m not naive enough to think that even ten of you are going to make it through the next 30 minutes of footage (cut down from an hour and fifty four, mind you… give me a second to just pat myself on the back…). If you do, we’re getting “I made it through…. and only got this lousy T-shirt” shirts made as we speak. Remind me to mail you one.

But I had an idea while editing and I’m so excited about the way it all worked out… Yes, we decided to put all of the pictures and videos together to create one BIG video, but in the 11th hour we made the decision to watch it back together and narrate our way through it. Almost like when you watch the commentary version of a movie with the actors and directors telling you what’s really happening and sharing behind the scene stories… anyone else love watching those? I’m a sucker for behind the scenes. 🙂 So that’s kind of what we did here… talked and reminisced about the trip, funny moments that happened, explanations that go along with pictures, and just memories that we want to preserve in our vacation documenting. And now you get a front row seat… whether you want one or not. 😉 Enjoy!

Now about the big announcement of next year’s trip… it’s coming tomorrow, but here are a few clues to get you started.

1. Home to a little blue guy.
2. My cousin’s fiance.
3. Recent Pixar short.
4. Shout out to Jesse Frederick.
