Hey, hey, we’re back and the party is still in full swing! Yesterday, we kicked things off with an Infographic full of stats and facts and tidbits of information about this past year of blogging. Today is a fun day because we get to look back at the highs and lows, best and worst, and most memorable moments of the last year. For the blog, that is. 😉 So here we go… another round of Superlatives!
Best Youth Group Game: When we played HUMAN Hungry, Hungry Hippos! I documented the set-up, supplies we used, and rules of play and that post has been one of our most popular in the last few months!
Most Dramatic Makeover: Our Giani Granite counter top makeover transformed our downstairs bathroom from a purple-y/gray blob to chic and classy. We love the contrast of the faux white marbled top and the sleek black cabinets.
Sneakiest: Planning and pulling off a surprise Bridal Shower for my sister-in-law, Summer! You can read all about that adventure here. 🙂
Biggest Headache: Fixing a leaky upstairs sink and replacing the dry wall in the downstairs closet that it ruined. Ugh, those are the kind of home projects that are NOT fun, but you have no choice but to do them.
Favorite Autumn Post: Our orange and teal mantle get-up from this past fall… I really loved how those colors ended up looking together!
Most Heartfelt: I think this one’s a tie between my Mother’s Day and Father’s Day post. I’ll let you guys decide. 🙂 Let’s just say, I cried writing both!
Most Globetrotter: This fun DIY Globe Pendant we made… it was so easy and turned out great!
Favorite Video: Definitely our most recent recap… the 2015 Christmas Vlog. Our first vlog ever! It was a lot of fun to capture moments throughout our Christmas week and now we have a “time capsule” of sorts to remember it by.
As for second place, I think that award goes to The Shoe Game, which we made in honor of this year’s Wedding Week.
Most Disgusting: Without a doubt, the tale of our AWFUL grout situation in the upstairs bathroom. We inherited it when we bought the house and for the life of me, I can’t figure out why we waited so long to replace it! But it’s gone now and sparkly clean, so we’ll let the past be the past. 🙂
Highest Number of Pictures: We documented last year’s vacation to Florida day by day and the post about our trip to Harry Potter World had a whopping FIFTY TWO pictures. AND four videos. That’s crazy!
Prettiest Table: A recent post… I really think the Valentine’s Day table from last week is one of the prettiest our table has seen yet!
Most Re-Pinned Last Year: By a landslide… the DIY (Nail Polish) Party Favors. These little guys stole the show and ironically, that was one of our first posts EVER!
Most Contemplative: This post about practicing the art of “dwelling” with God.
Favorite Post to Write: For some reason, I really enjoyed putting together the post about this year’s Christmas Card. It was just a fun, easy way to ring in the holiday season and that post didn’t take a lot of the usual work it takes to create a post (doing a project, shooting it, editing pictures, describing a process, editing post, etc.)… it was just simple and fun.
Taken the Longest: Back for a two year streak, the much-anticipated (“when are you going to share how you made your bed?”) post about building our bed has still not been written. I know. I KNOW. Trust me. A close second was hanging our Driftwood Pendant light in the upstairs hallway… we got that for Christmas in 2014 and I don’t think it got hung until late summer. Way to be proactive, Thomas’s. 🙂
Favorite Mood Board: This one of the Downstairs Bathroom. Even though we’ve done some things differently, I love that original plan and would love to see bits of it come into play as we go forward.
Most In the Moment: The day after my brother (Beau) and his wife (Summer) got married, I put together a quick post with a few snapshots of the day… just some sweet memories while we were still flying high from the excitement of the wedding. I actually named the post “Snapshots”. 🙂
Wordiest Post: Not only did we do a post about our own trip to Harry Potter World, but then that same day, published another post about how we did HPW in a day. Our schedule, dining info, a ride breakdown, and TONS of tips and tricks that we learned and wanted to pass on. That sucker won wordiest with (as you saw in the infographic yesterday) 3,365 words! That’s ridiculous. BUT, we’ve had a bunch of people tell us that the post was super helpful in helping them plan for their own trip to HPW, so in my book… totally worth the effort!
Most Festive: Our adorable, pint-sized Christmas tree this year. It gave me all the feels. 🙂 Plus, those handmade wooden slice ornaments were so easy and made the whole thing that much more personal.
Favorite Picture: This one. Makes my heart race. 🙂
Whew, we made it! Blogiversary #2 Superlatives in the books. Thanks for tagging along today, friends… make sure to come back tonight (8:00pm EST sharp!) for the sneak peek our big secret project! This thing has been in the works for over FIVE MONTHS now and Friday is the big reveal! Tonight, though… a sneak peek that you don’t want to miss. See you then!
I can’t believe it… this little blog of ours officially turned TWO…
